For the longest period of his life, Gills purpose was to follow his brother Krill and foil his plans, not for his own benefit, but out of pure joy of seeing his brother trying to salvage the remaining of his work. If it would have been up to Gill, this would have been his work for all eternity. But after his brother sneaked away from him during a meeting of the gods where Gill was not allowed to attend, he searched for him but could not get a hold of his location. And so, he wandered the earth for a few decades granting his followers for what they prayed. Heralding a time of great treachery and perfidiousness.
The gods Gill and Krill are twin brothers and share an uncommonly close relationship. Although it is known that they like nothing more than to disrupt each other's plans, when working together they are a force even the other gods try not to cross. There is a saying in Seres that say that trickery and treachery go hand in hand and it refers not only to the downhill path one takes when one is being dishonest, but to the very nature of these gods.
There are rumours among the followers of Gill, Krill and Tyr, that the goddess of wisdom betrayed the god of trickery and that Gill is set to avenge his brother. While Tyrs worshipper not usually take part in such guesswork, it is believed that there is a new, more fanatic group within the church of chaos whichs only purpose is to thwart Tyrs plans.
The search for statues or pictures of Gill in public areas is a long and ultimately fruitless endeavour. Only in dark alleys or back rooms of the poor and rich, he can be seen on pictures or small medallions. Without a doubt most of his followers pray to him, in hope that their previously beloved or competitors would have a rather unfortunate accident. The rest pray to him in the hopes that their worship discourages Gill from focusing on them for his next scheme. His depictions show him usually as a hooded figure waiting in the shadows for his victim.
Death, Betrayal
a bloody, double edged dagger
There is no official holiday to celebrate or worship Gill. Though many denizens of Seres have found their own traditions to honour Gill, for he does not like to be ignored and it is therefore better to stay on his good side. In many cultures, after someone comes of age, it is custom to gift him or her a dagger, as a symbol of protection and responsibility. That day is usually spent to pray to Gill to keep his eye of the gifted person, so he or she never has to use that dagger and if he or she has to, to make the cut swift and clean.
