Nature

Krill is the god of deceit, mischief and shape shifting. He ranges from a generally harmless jokester to a serious threat to order and peace. He loves to spread chaos among gods and serenians alike, seldom aiming towards a specific goal, mostly just for the fun of it. He is one of the gods that very rarely dwells in his own plane of existence, he rather prefers to mingle with the humanoids of Seres, for he finds them extremely fascinating. It is said that Krill likes nothing more than being surprised and the unpredictability of serenians still fascinates him.

Brothers

The gods Gill and Krill are twin brothers and share an uncommonly close relationship. Although it is known that they like nothing more than to disrupt each other's plans, when working together they are a force even the other gods try not to cross. While it would have been understandable to every other god that Krill would hate his brother Gill, for he was the reason that most of his undertakings failed, he saw the trickery of his brother more as an incentive to try harder and make his plans fool proof. There is a saying in Seres that says that trickery and treachery go hand in hand and it refers not only to the downhill path one takes when one is being dishonest, but to the very nature of these gods.

There are rumours among the followers of Krill, Gill and Tyr, that the goddess of wisdom betrayed the god of trickery and that Gill is set to avenge his brother. But as the clerics of Krill still have all their powers, the validity of this rumour is to be questioned. It is however a fact, that Krill has been a thorn in Tyrs side for a long time and that she would like nothing more than to be finally rid of him.

Depiction and Worship

The true form of Krill is a mystery, even to the gods. For the god of shapeshifting does what he does best, always appearing in a different shape. He is said to prefer the forms of animals, which he changes fluidly, but always with a humanoid facial feature, usually a wicked grin, a slight sneer or a raised eyebrow. When Krill takes the form of a humanoid, which he does sometimes to converse concealed with serenians, there is always something wrong with his transformation. There are stories of men without shadows, elves with eleven fingers or orcs with purple eyes. All Krill in disguise?

Like the god himself, the followers of Krill are a mixed bunch. There are those who see the god as a reminder to not take everything so seriously and they devoted themselves to bring laughter and joy to the world. Often actually fighting oppression and corruption where it disrupts the easy way of life.

His more austere worshippers tend to be more disruptive in the classical sense. They range from revolutionaries that try to abolish establishments to religious fanatics that spread chaos at all costs.

On the first of Pluvial Grace is foolsday, a holiday where it is custom to play pranks and tricks on one another. Although the origin of Krills holiday was supposed to be good natured fun, serenians found a way to turn this day around. It is said that on this day, Krills power is strongest and therefore many dubious and shady endeavours are carried out in the hopes that they are more likely to succeed with Krills aid.
