Aquina
Pride and Punishment
Aquina is the goddess of rivers and streams, lochs and lakes. She first formed as a single drop of water and then journeyed every waterway of Seres before she grew into her current form. On her wanderings, she encountered everything that lived in and was nurtured through her waters and she came to feel connected to those lives. After her body had formed, Aquina often roamed the land and made sure there was water aplenty for those who respected her ways. She was known to be kind and just and there are still many stories that tell of her good heart.
Regrettably, those days came to a swift end when the so-called hero Heistos stole her crown and hid it from her. That made Aquina very angry, as she was quite fond of her headdress and she felt betrayed by the people she had so selflessly aided. She searched long and wide for her crown, but it could not be found. Therefore, she was sure that one of the other gods must have helped Heistos in his quest and her suspicions quickly fell on Krill, the god of deceit. Although he continues to deny his hand in this matter, they still go against each other whenever the opportunity arises.
When Aquina was sure her crown would be not unearthed, her rage grew into bitterness and all the waters she was patron of turned as bitter as her heart (embittered water). From then on, no one should be able to be nurtured by her water.
Depiction
Although Aquina is not the gentle goddess she once was, there are still those who believe that as soon as her crown is returned to her, she will revert back to her old self. The others worship her in a mixture of fear, for her bitterness made surviving on the surface of Seres much harder, and reverence, for she holds the power to allow life to prosper once again. Those who want to flatter her depict her still with her crown, as a beautiful woman with hair as black as a crow and eyes that change colour like the water. Most likenesses show Aquina how she looks today though. A woman who has her best years behind her, with a pinched face, though you can see that she was once a great beauty. Her black hair has streaks of grey in it and her eyes have turned a cold, icy blue. Just her robe is still as stunning as ever, a flowing blue gown that moves like water.

Holidays
The last day of the third month, Pluvial Grace, and the first day of the tenth month, Tempest, are Aquinas holidays. It is custom to bathe in lakes or rivers and/or bring the goddess offerings to the small shrines near large waterways. More extreme followers of Aquina spent that time in an extended trance, sometimes for days without drinking or eating, trying to reach Aquina with their pleas of returning the water of Seres to how it once was.
