Naru is the deity of decay and fade. Their powers break everything down, from the smallest insects to the tallest mountains, sooner or later everything in Seres falls under their domain. However, Naru is not cruel in nature. It is simply the way life goes, for would there be no withering, no end, there could be no new life. Naru holds the world in balance, life and death both in the palm of their hands.
Hidden, but not Forgotten
For fear of the consequence of the Embittered Water, a priest-emperor and his people tried to bind the god Naru deep underground in the hopes of avoiding death and decay. But the ritual could not hold a being as powerful as Naru, their energy ripped Seres apart, destroying countless lives in the process. Though the ritual failed in a way, large parts of the god's essence is still bound to the metals of the earth. There they lie in waiting for people to unearth them and with this to bring Narus powers back to the surface.
Devotion
Narus powers are not what they were before the Cataclysm, but they are still a powerful entity on Seres and their devoted clerics are spread throughout the world. It is custom to plant cherry trees on graveyards and cemeteries, in the hopes that Naru will protect and guide the dead. His symbols are also believed to ward off ghosts and undead and are used as a form of protection even by non-believers. Though not many would admit this out loud, Naru is a god that makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Their close link to death and decay let many serenians to find Naru from creepy, to ghastly, as far as downright scary. A god that is both adored and feared.

Holidays
The Día de Muertos start on the last day of tempest and end on the second of Fading. It is a time to feel close to and celebrate the dead. Family and friends come together to pray for their dead loved ones, there are picnics on cemeteries and large festivities with dancing, costumes, music and drinking. It is in general more a celebration than mourning and takes place all throughout Seres, for no one would like to (openly) offend Naru.
