Kinder von Eluth/ Children of Eluth
life before death
strength before weakness
journey before destination
Structure
The Knightly Order of the Chidlren of Eluth is divided into five, more specialized groups.
Divine Origins
After the fall of their mother, the children of Eluth, together with some of the formerly imprisoned insurgents, formed the Knightly Order to overturn the magocracy and bring peace, justice and equality to the suffering lands.
Tenets of Faith
Immortal Words
The Knights Radiant live by their order's Five Ideals, called the Immortal Words, with the First Ideal being the same for every order: Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. The other four Ideals are different for each order and (except for the first) a secret. To progress within the Order, one goes on holy quests and has to find the other Ideals within themselves. Those who discovered all five Ideals of their order lose the addition of lost to their name and become one of the true Knights Radiant.
First Ideal
- Life before death: The Radiant seeks to defend life, always. He never kills unnecessarily, and never risks his own life for frivolous reasons. Living is harder than dying. The Radiant's duty is to live
- Strength before weakness: All men are weak at some time in their lives. The Radiant protects those who are weak, and uses his strength for others. Strength does not make one capable of rule; it makes one capable of service.
- Journey before destination: There are always several ways to achieve a goal. Failure is preferable to winning through unjust means. Protecting ten innocents is not worth killing one. In the end, all men die. How you lived will be far more important than what you accomplished.
Ethics
The Children of Eluth see the whole of Seres as theirs to protect and defend. It is not uncommon for them to be seen in even the remotest parts of the world, trying to bring peace and justice to the people. This is of course a bit of a double edged sword, as they are a powerful organisation that is not easily turned down/away and although the Lost Knights are generally good and truthworty people, this amount of trust and power harbours a certain kind of risk of falling into the wrong hands.
